The Green Power Alternative Demonstrator, or G-PAD, is a portable electrical generation station. Using built-in solar panels and an extendable wind turbine, G-PAD collects and stores clean electrical power for numerous applications.

The G-PAD project was initiated for two reasons:

  • As a renewable power source for use at fairs, festivals or other remote gatherings.

  • And, as a demonstration unit to highlight the energy efficiency technology that continues to impact our way of life.

The G-PAD was engineered and built by master craftsmen of the Electrical Industry of Central Ohio Labor Management Cooperation Committee (LMCC) and the Electrical Trades Center.

The LMCC is comprised of the Central Ohio Chapter of the National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA) and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local 683.
